Affiliate Program
Our affiliate program pays out a whopping $85 per referral. This program can be implemented in any fashion you want – whether it be through the utilization of a text link through a review of VPS.NET or banners advertised on your site, we’ll make sure you get paid your referral commissions. To get started with our affiliate program you can simply sign up inside of the VPS.NET control panel under the “affiliates section.” If you’d like to advertise all of the UK2Group brands, you can use our affiliate manager, Aff.biz. If you choose to use banners to advertise VPS.NET’s services, we do have some already created for your use. Just as a note, it is NOT necessary to be a VPS.NET customer to be an affiliate of ours (though we’d definitely appreciate if you were).

Reseller Program
Our reseller program is one we’ve worked to make extremely competitive, and easy to setup. As a VPS.NET reseller, you’re able to resell all of our services, including the CDN. There are no setup fees or up front bulk commitment costs. Instead, you only pay for the services that you’ve already sold. Best of all, we’ve worked with Blesta, CannyBill, HostBill and WHMCS to create modules that uses our API to completely automate the sale and management of our VPS services. This allows you setup the nodes automatically for your customers, and also give them a control panel to manage their VPS; they’ll essentially have all the power of a direct VPS.NET customer.

We tend to work very close with our resellers, so there’s no automated signup form to get started. Instead, you can email me at resellers(at)vps.net and our team will walk you through the initial steps of launching your new product.

                          

Fantasy Football
All work and no play makes you a dull boy. That’s why we’ve setup a VPS.NET fantasy football league at Yahoo. There are no prizes other than bragging rights, and it’s purely for fun. Nick and I are both big into the NFL, so we’re definitely going to be talking some serious smack talk through Twitter the entire season. I hope to see some of y’all join in with us!

Support Stats
I thought it’d be fun to go over some statistics, and fill you in on the work load our guys have. I’ve honestly never seen a support team as dedicated and as hard working as the one we have now. This week alone they handled over 500 support tickets, while averaging a response time just a shy over 15 minutes and an overall resolution time below 1 hour.

Conferences
The 2010 VPS.NET summer conference tour is nearing an end. This week Nick and Ditlev attended DrupalCon in Copenhagen, Denmark, where we were a leading sponsor. From the pictures, and messages I’ve received, it appears to have been a great success and extremely fun time. Not worry – if you haven’t had a chance to meet up with us yet, we’ll be at cPanelConf in Houston, Texas October 4th-6th. I was also told just yesterday that we’ll be at DrupalCon Chicago March 7th-10th 2011. Chicago is in my top 5 favorite cities list, so you definitely don’t want to miss it!

Now I know you’re probably rollling your eyes, thinking about how hard it’ll be to put something like this in place. I promise you, it’s not. You don’t need to entirely reprogram you site. All that is needed is an account at Aff.Biz, our affiliate tracking site — no need to worry, Aff.Biz is entirely owned by VPS.NET’s parent company, UK2Group. From there, you get your affiliate link to refer customers to VPS.NET, and you can start earning an additional income stream.

But Terry, how can I implement this?
We give you the freedom to implement it how you want; button, banner, or text link. All are okay with us. In my experience though, some sites experience better success rates with different techniques.

If you run a blog, and I know a lot of our customers do, a banner or button probably isn’t going to have much luck. For these kind of sites, I’d suggest throwing out a recommendation in a post or two each month. The post doesn’t need to be solely dedicated to VPS.NET; just a paragraph about our Cloud Hosting or our Cloud Servers, and a link will do the job.

For customers who have a forum, I’ve seen a lot of success with sticky post suggesting VPS.NET’s services. It’s not too obtrusive to where your posters find it annoying, but it’s also readily available for when they need our services. If you have banners, it wouldn’t hurt putting our banner in your rotation either. As a marketing major, I’ve always been a fan of hitting your target customer on multiple fronts.

For those running other sites with a lot of page views, banners and buttons actually do work out really well. I’ve also seen tremendous success with a “special announcement” (typically a link posted at the top of the each page) recommending our services. For those in need of banners and buttons, we have some already made up and available for your use. Your free to make your own as well, and if you’re the sharing type, definitely throw them up on the forum for others to use.

Also, this is about a month away, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up because it’s really cool. The programmers behind the scenes are working on a module that will take the Aff.Biz control panel and put it inside your VPS.NET control panel. The great thing about this module is it will allow you to request that any referral money earned, be put towards your hosting payment. Makes everything totally seamless, and that’s our goal here.
