The recovery time for a deleted VPS takes just as long as creating a new VPS. There’s no support tickets required; it’s all entirely automated, making things totally easy for you, and removing any chance for embarrassment.

Now the coolest part of all of this (and my favorite when introducing a new feature) is there is absolutely no charge for using the recovery service. No charge for making it available, and definitely no charge if/when you need to use it. All of it’s totally free.

Before you go off and delete an in-use VPS, I do have to warn you that it hasn’t been totally rolled out. We expect to have it available to all VPS.NET customers by the start of next week.

                          

You are now able to monitor CPU load, memory, processes, disk usage, network traffic, Apache & Nginx status from an outside location.

Keep an eye on your servers and get e-mail, SMS & iPhone alerts when things go wrong.

Today we introduce the ability to Recreate your VPS while keeping the IP, Setting, Nodes and any Add-on services or licenses intact !

And it could not be easier, simply access your VPS overview and you will notice a new “Re-install VPS” option

Select it and your able to perform a clean reinstall with a new (or the same) image within a minute.

As per the notice on that page, we advise you to create a “custom backup” if you are unsure about the new image, your VPS data will be erased, but the backup wont, so you can always restore back to it.

We are sure this will be another much loved feature, that will make our user’s sysadmin life’s even easier

                          

Another much requested feature from our users, it means people can grow their storage without the need to purchase CPU/RAM as well, the price is $10 USD (£7.50) per 25GB

How does it work ?

Here are the steps on how to add storage nodes to your VPS

-On your Dashboard, please select “Buy/Delete” Nodes

The Click “Add Nodes”, you will notice the nodes slider now has 2 tabs “VPS Nodes & Storage” (yes, Storage Nodes are RED)

Just select “Storage” and then you are able to purchase as many storage nodes as you wish, after edit your VPS and again the “storage” tab is present, select the number of storage nodes you wish to add, click save.

And thats it !, your VPS will now reboot and resize the disk partition, depending on how much storage you added it will take a few seconds to a few minutes to boot.

                          

This feature allows users to create their own deployable Template Images, it can also be used to duplicate a current VPS, here is how the process looks

On Your VPS overview, make sure you have backups enabled, and select the backups tab:

On the backup tab, select to create a “new backup”, after then option to “convert to template” will appear:

The Image creation process will start, until it’s done you wont be able to generate new VM’s using the new image, it can take around 15 minutes for the process to complete for a 1GB image (actual storage size in use):

Meanwhile, you can edit the template (under managed VPSs -> Manage Custom Templates) and Edit it with your own description and Extra info:

Once the template has been successfully created, you are then able to deploy it over and over again, or use it to replicate your current VM:
  

In the near future we will introduce the ability for users to download/upload these templates (for local testing and modifications), and migrate/copy them to another Cloud, also at the moment all accounts are limited to 1 FREE custom template slot, the ability to purchase additional slots will also be added soon.

What exactly is a template ?

A template means your image can be deployed by the VPS.NET provisioning system, a new IP, Hostname and root password will be assigned during the provisioning system, just like our standard images do.

Also, please notice the template is not linked to the original VPS, deleting or modifying the original VPS source will not affect the template.

It’s been another much requested feature, for new users simply select the PayPal tab on the signup page, existing users can edit their payment details to change from Credit Card payment to PayPal option.

Notice: Unlike CC users, PayPal users will have to login to their accounts every month after receiving their invoice and process the payment manually, in the future we hope to introduce PayPal subscriptions as well.

How do I get an ip ?

On your VPS.NET CP main page you will now notice this new option “Get additional ip addresses”

Inside there you will find your IP Pool manager, with the ability to add or remove ip’s, we are adding a top table identifying each of those elements, but you basically get your IP Address, Netmask and Gateway .. it’s then your responsibility then to add the IP to your VPS of choice.
