Now that I have it working correctly, this is possibly the coolest service I have ever used, especially the iphone push notifications. Very highly recommended, even if you don't have an iphone. Seriously, even after one day I cannot imagine not having a tool like this to keep an eye on my servers.

Yeah, it is quite an amazing tool - glad to hear you got it working!

Installed this yesterday and i have to say it's really nice. Though if you would really like to keep an eye on your server you better (also) install munin and watch the real stats. It's free also.

But of course it comes without a Sweet playful iPhone App. But 7,50 is really still a bit expensive although it's a great rabate from their original price. Vor VPSs where you quickly have 10 of them this is way to oversized i think.

my 2 cents :-)

Im currently torn between getting an iphone or the HTC Hero.
The problem is it will cost an extra £20 per month to have the iphone with the minutes I need and insurance. A joke! The HTC Hero is more flexible and has as good a web interface so I'm guessing the app is not essential! Munin looks interesting!

@amdowney: So if the HTC is better and cheaper why even think about the iphone? Just because it has 100.000+ potential apps in the AppStore? No, i guess. ;-)

Because the iPhone is what all the hype is about and everyone seems to want one. So as my contract is up for renewal I look at my options - I need 750 mins max, with the HTC Hero I can buy a 900 min tariff for £30 + £6 insurance on Orange, whereas for the iPhone they are taking the piss – I would have to buy a £45 per month 1200min tariff with £12 insurance.

That’s £20 extra per month (£480 over 2 years!!!) – and I don’t think it’s worth it especially as some rate the HTC higher!

HTC Hero and Android wins T3 Gadget Awards Google Android

Plus I perfer my small sony walkman for the gym and the big TV for entertainment.

your first fatal mistake - choosing orange, i have found there tarrifs overpriced for the deal you get, even vodafone do better deals than orange IMHO. if i were you, investigate switching to o2 with iphone (at least o2's data usage is more unlimited than orange's) i often find o2's insurance to be slightly better priced, but its the gamble, will i need to replace my phone in a year due to theft or loss or do i risk not insuring and save the cash.

also i find that although orange claim to have the largest 3g network in the UK, i find there coverage lacking in some key areas (i would rather have decent basic coverage all over the uk than good 3g in one area and patchy coverage at best elsewhere)

just my two pence (seeing as we seem to be dealing in pounds here )

I have both (Hero and iPhone 3G)

The Hero is the better phone when it comes to the OS.
But the iPhone is much better at everything it does (music, phone calls, browsing, emails) and has better quality apps.

IMHO though.. I do think Android has much more potential, it's just not there yet

You've obviously not used the Droid with Android 2.0, ported over Pidgin and used real encryption algorithms, or witnessed the fact that the new Android 2.0 runs on the Droid with an unlocked version of the same hardware the iPhone and Pre use. Some people claim it's not a iPhone killer, but the fact remains that Google developers are paying more attention to detail, fixes and fancies than iPhone is right now, Android is making faster turn around, give it another 3 months and it will be over when Android 2.5 hits the Droid. The only thing that gives the iPhone and edge is iTunes, but if it's music, it doesn't matter anyways because you can put all your MP3s onto the Droid. I do on both my droid and my Storm2.
