Backups

The backup system seems very basic, I would like to be able to take a backup (and get notified via e-mail or another means when it is complete) and I would also like to be able to restore only certain files and folders, say I get hacked and all my php pages get corrupted, but my mysql is fine, I would like to keep the mysql databases in tact so I don't lose any content but I would like to be able to restore those hacked php files.

the backups on vps.net are of the entire image, but soon you will be able to download a backup image to your local system and harvest it as you see fit

How do i setup daily backups. I did not specify the back ups while the vps was being created. I see the back options but i don't know if its possible to setup daily backups or weekly etc backups.

I can enable it for you - let us know (via a ticket) what your hostname and server label is, and we will enable backups.

If I ticked 'Enable backups' on the creation of the VPS will it automatically be backed up daily, weekly and monthly?

Great stuff, will have to test restoring a backup tomorrow. Is it a pre-set time that back ups are taken or just 24 hours after the VPS was created?

Backups are taken nightly between 3am and 6am London time.

Weekly backups are taken on Mondays and monthly ones are taken on the 1st of the month.
