I really don't agree with hiding the network status from non-customers. It is almost like you're ashamed how you handle these situations. A public status page is one thing but that only shows your side of the story and not how your customers react to it. Even if it was setup so everyone can view but only customers can post?

We would never do that, thats why the public status page will be online later today or tomorrow max.

My understanding of a public status page is that it shows any current issues as reported by VPS.net staff. It doesn't show comments from customers as the situation progresses and it doesn't show past issues, issues which would interest someone considering VPS.net.

your right but this is pretty standard practice in the hosting industry, dont see what the issue is. potential customers can see a listing of previous issues or current ones, real customers can go and discuss how to get there servers online quicker

If it lists past issues too then that is acceptable. But other providers I have used in the past have their status page as only listing current issues. Then 24 hours after a problem is resolved it is completely removed from their status page as though it never happened.

I know what other major players in this industry do but I was under the impression that VPS.net was different ;)

Something like this would be good. Listing current and recent issues. I don't think there is a need to keep a huge record of everything though. Maybe keep them for a month or two and then remove them.

I would like access to the clients forum but going to that page and trying to add my forum username just produces "Could not find the user or user already has client forum access."

What am I doing wrong?

When u need the forum most, you can't get yourself in.. Please let me get in the client forums, because seems like some users have issue with VPS now.

Thanks.
