Forum Upgrade

We'll be upgrading our forum software to IP Board later today. The forum will be down for a short period of time while we convert all posts, and users over to the new database. The upgrade to the new forum software will allow us to add additional value to the VPS.NET product line, and continue our close involvement with our user base.

Conversion will likely start shortly. Downtime shouldn't be much longer than an hour.
IP Board has a product roadmap that fits VPS.NET's needs a little bit better than vBulletin.

Back now. If you notice anything else is missing, just post it here again.

Nice to see that the transition was rather seemless.

The decision was very much security related. There is vulnerability after vulnerability in vB.

Dan Cryer works for IPB, that's why they chose it, or at least a large part. I assume subsidized license fees and access to a developer of the software as and when they need it makes it much more appealing than vbulletin
Also I now have access to mod tools for some reason...

You only had access to one specific forum. I just had to switch you over to customer access.

It doesn't hurt to have someone around who knows the software, indeed.
I'll look at the mod tools thing now.
