Yeah, that kind of sucks, too. It would have been nice to have redirects in place for old topics.

I did try to get topics redirected, but the IDs all changed in the conversion, which made it near impossible.

That being said, Google has reindexed most of the topics already. :)

Well, no biggie then. The notifications and inline lightbox window issue are more important.

you know that was optional with the old forum right? I had it at 30, you had the option for any limit including all posts on a single page.

I didn't know that. Oh well, too late now...

There are two options for how to display this, you can find it on this page: http://www.vps.net/f...e&module=usercp
The first (and default) is to display all new content since your last visit. The second (and better, in my opinion) is to show all new content that you haven't read yet. This is already sorted last reply first.

Thanks for that. I've now looked at all the options and am happy with the new forum. Being able to turn off everyone's signatures is a good option. :)

What mobile OS are you using?

iPhone like you. I must have clicked through to the full version before I realised that the forum had been upgraded. Now using it happily.

If you're particularly keen to keep up with the VPS.NET forums, we also have an iPhone app: http://itunes.apple....d372597645?mt=8

Supports push notifications of anything (PMs, watched topics, watched forums, etc)

Dan, you've got something misconfigured. It would explain the email problem too, when submitting a poll response it redirects to vps.net/topic... when it should be vps.net/forum/topic... which is the same as what happens with email subscriptions.

Probably an .htaccess issue.

Yeah, I think it's a problem with some redirects on the vps.net server. I can't change them as I only have access to the one the forums are on.

Thanks Dan. I've just been using it on my iPad to catch up with posts from the last few days - works brilliantly. One comments is that, when using the "view new content" option, the back at the top of the page is to the forum that the topic is in, not the "view new content" page. Using the back button in the bottom left corner is all very well until you've replied to a post! Also, when viewing an external web link, you can get trapped outside the forum. A "back to topic" button would be very useful.

I hope this is useful feedback...

Only just noticed the leap, fantastic decision VPS.net! I will surely attempt to be more active from now onwards.
Kind regards,

Erm, the forum search has appeared to have stopped working. It was working fine until a few days ago, now it just always says "No Results".

It means that the "View New Content" page also doesn't work, which is really annoying when trying to keep up with the new posts.

EDIT: Ok, I signed out and then in again, and it's now working! Odd, wondered why no one else was reporting it!

We run Sphinx for the search on this forum, I think it must have died when the server went down before.

I restarted it probably just before you signed out. :)
