Hi,

I am having problems with the VPS.net's minimal image of Debian 6 64-bit. New VPS and clean install of OS.
I am unable to upgrade it please see below, I have no idea of whats going on due to limited knowledge of Linux:

Any ideas would be most appreciated. My only guess is that the Image provided by VPS.net/OnApp is broken.

theres another thread about this and they know about it, its been reported on several occasions, vps.net blame onapp but dont hide the image until its fixed which i think its just poor management of the issue, you should use the lenny image and follow my guide to upgrade for most safe update to squeeze

Hi Anthony,

I have seen your thread ref. upgrading Lenny to Squeeze and I thank-you for it.

I am most upset with VPS.net for allowing this known issue to remain unresolved. I have just wasted 3 days building a new VPS that refuses to function correctly! No only will it not update it seems stuff is missing from the kernel, apparently POSIX 1003.1e capabilities are missing. Now I have no idea what POSIX 1003.1e is or care apart from the fact it is stopping "Run virtual host as user" from Helix Development from working.

Now I am faced with building ano. VPS etc... via. the upgrade path outlines by Anthony. VPS.net hide the dam image's or fix them before more of your customers waste time and money on a wild-goose-chase.

I fixed this with:

apt-get remove grub-legacy grub-common

Apparently you don't need Grub with Xen
