My server appears to have been booted up again, and I can SSH in, but can't access sites. The server load is currently 56.77.

Anyone had any updates about the rebuild progress?

I can access some sites on my server, but mysqld will not start with InnoDB.

An hour and a half ago I got this update from Terry:

"The RAID rebuild is going much slower than we expected. Our engineers are working to improve the rebuild time now by decreasing load on the SAN, however at this point it looks like the rebuild could extend well into the night. "

I still can't access any sites on my server, or even SSH in.

My server finally appears to be useable.

Hi Guys,

Just as a note, I know you're all frustrated, but we obviously can't have you advertising competitors here.

To add to to frustration, looks like it's down again. I hope you'll be offering a refund for this month too?

Perhaps false alarm, a reboot has brought the site back up, I wonder if the RAID rebuild is still ongoing?

The RAID rebuild is still ongoing at this time, but loads on the SAN don't seem to be too high so it shouldn't be impacting performance.

Things seemed to settle down to workable loads around 3:30pm UK time.

After the bad experiences in the past week with London C - I decided - after being with VPS.net since 2009 - to move all my server activity away from VPS.net.

Downtime was bad, after reboots hearing my VM was corrupt and waiting sometimes more than 5 hours for a reply from support didn't help either.

Fortunately I backed up the server so I didn't lose much data. Still, moving to a new server was a lot of work (optimizing, hardening, dns changes, customer communication, etc), but I am happy I made the decision to move away after reading more VPS.net downtime problems in the past days.

VPS.net charged me during downtime for a new month of hosting services. After deleting my VM - I contacted sales and asked for a refund. Basically I wanted my money back for the month since I am not using any VPS.net services anymore. In the past I dealt with other CloudHosting companies and they always refunded the money to my credit card without any problems. Not so with VPS.net. They refuse to refund the money they only want to give credits which can be used for their services. The problem is, I don't want their services anymore, because they give me headaches and sleepless nights.

I am sure it is all conform their policies, etc. But after the bad hosting experiences of the past week I think it would have been decent manner to just refund the money. I don't care too much about the money, it's just the way this again is dealth with by VPS.net. Exemplary, I guess.

Anyway, I am out of here. Hope things will get better soon.

Yep - major problems here too. My site wasn't responding, and neither was the console, so I tried the 'Graceful reboot' option in the VPS overview. Unfortunately this didn't work, neither did a shutdown and eventually a 'Force power off' did work. Now I can't get the damn thing back on, despite clicking 'Startup' numerous times, and always being told "VPS queued for power on".

My patience is starting to wear a bit thin now, especially after I had to rely on my own backups after the last incident.

Okay, it looks like my site is back up now. Not sure if things are fixed, or if clicking 'Startup' enough times eventually worked, but as long as it stays up then I guess it's a solution.

Unfortunately the downtime of our web-site didn't go un-noticed... today is going to be a fun day

I'm not sure what the original cause of the problem was, but I did have to reboot mine to get it back. Unfortunately getting it to successfully start up took ages, but looking at our monitoring software (Nagios), it had stopped responding about an hour and a half ago ('force power off' was the last resort after nothing else I had tried worked).

If you do go for this option, make sure you've got enough time to wait for the restart to actually work!

Even force power off isn't working for me :(
