I'm a little fed up with the issues here. If VPS.net doesn't read up on the term "Reliable" then I'm moving over to a dedicated server.
My story, spent about $4,000 total (1/4 went to VPS.net) and I've lost over 30 customers during the outages over this year. I was gullible and thought VPS.net was a beta product and that it would just get better. I'm now at 4 customers and the server's acting up. It's not down, (which is a pleasing change) but it's running very slow. Disk is floating around 50-100%, which indicates hardware issues.
VPS.net, if I lose even one customer, it's official. I'm leaving. I loved the brand, got lured in with the self healing and 100% uptime, but unfortunately I've only experienced a financial loss. The Ukraine tech support doesn't help either. Their responses are very generic. They don't seem like they care.

Have you filed a ticket so we can look into the latest issue? I just awoke, but I'm not seeing any issues in m inbox that would cause poor disk performance. Effecting your business is the last thing we'd want to do though, so please enter a ticket so we can look into it for you.

Hi Terry,
I have several tickets. Some that are closed, a few that are open. Look at the Atlanta E San. It's been reading 100% for the past 10 minutes and the only processes on my VPS are standard. CPU is at 0% of course.

Terry, I know you don't want to effect my business. Not even 1% of my overall income comes from hosting websites. I develop applications in C++ for small businesses. I was really hoping that I could make hosting websites part of my services. Think about it, 30 customers all lost (Except for 4). Over time, that would've added onto more nodes I subscribe to. Eventually, I would have 100+ nodes. This is good for VPS.net. In reality, it's effecting VPS.net more than it's effecting myself.
I really want VPS.net to just work. I need VPS.net to find out what exactly is causing all these issues and take it out, or replace it with something more reliable. It's not that I dislike VPS.net, it's that it's just so unreliable. I want VPS.net to be a success, because that in return will result in my success.

Dates that Atlanta E broke. (Not including other cloud zones)
January 8th, 2011
January 19th, 2011
March 25th, 2011
April 21st, 2011
May 27th, 2011
July 9th, 2011
August 9th, 2011
August 24th, 2011
September 15th, 2011
All I'm asking for is a little reliability. I'd expect 99% uptime, but it's clearly 90-92% uptime.

Lost all my customers. I'm currently building a dedicated server on a new host, can't wait until my VPS comes up so I can transfer.
At least when I transfer, I can beg my old customers to come back as I'll be on "Real" reliable hardware. I have no idea why I've stayed here for 8 months. I'm an idiot.

Everything is transferred, and right in time to avoid the downtime that is plaguing Atlanta E this very moment. http://status.vps.net/
I even got one of my customers back. Go figure. Wish I could stay at VPS.net though, the perks were good.
